27.06.2017 - Big book bazaar in the university library
On Tuesday, 27 June 2017, a large book bazaar will take place in the University Library from 10:00 to 17:00.
Around 8,000 volumes from almost all departments will be on offer, in particular from the fields of English, German, Art and Theology as well as Computer Science and Economics.
The proceeds from the book bazaar will be used to purchase new information media.
The University Library is looking forward to your visit!

The exchange of experiences for employees from the specialist departments of history, archaeology and art serves to provide up-to-date information. In addition, the aim is to initiate a regular exchange and stronger networking between the subject specialists. Topics include Overview of other fields of work and services of the Specialised Information Service (FID) for historical studies, development status of the "German Historical Bibliography" - "Aby gets digital" - automatically recognising image content, cooperation between computer scientists and art historians - practical report: "Tools" for managing the physical collection - tour of Paderborn University Library

02-03 March 2017 - "Long Night of Writing" in the University Library
On 2 March from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. on 3 March 2017, the Competence Centre for Writing and the University Library, together with other institutions of the university, are organising the second Long Night of Writing.
During this 'long night', students from all faculties can take part in workshops on academic writing, attend short lectures on literature searches and the reference management programme Citavi, or simply enjoy the peace and quiet in the library for creative and productive writing. The 'moving breaks' organised by the university sports team provide pleasant interruptions.
The library's information centre also offers individual support on writing, literature searches and IT.

The University Library is taking part in this day with guided tours of the library.
