The structure of the Paderborn University Library's holdings is oriented towards the information needs of research, teaching and study at the university. Therefore, the focal points of the library's content reflect the profile of the university. Almost the entire collection is freely accessible and distributed among the subject libraries according to subject-related criteria. Only a small part - mainly older periodical volumes and books in a special format - is housed in a stacks that is not accessible to users and must be ordered for loan.
