Ap­ply for a lib­rary card

Please apply for your library card using the application form before you visit the University Library (it is also possible to complete this form on site).

You must collect your library card in person at the desk of the Local Lending Department. Please bring the following with you:

  • a certificate from the university or one of its institutions confirming the duration of your doctorate, the duration of your stay at the university or the period of your teaching assignment or a document proving that you hold a professorship at the Paderborn Faculty of Theology or the Paderborn University of Applied Sciences (FHdW).
  • Your identity card or passport with a confirmation of registration from the residents' registration office (registration certificate), which must not be older than 1 year, or another valid official identity document with photo and address details.

Ac­tiv­ate lib­rary card

Each card must be activated once before it can be used for the first time. This can be done on the login page of the catalogue via 'Activate account now'. 

Lib­rary card num­ber

Barcode number on the library card, starting with PG.

Pass­word

You set the password for your library account when you activate your user account.

Change ad­dress and e-mail

Please have your new address updated in the library at the desk of the Local Lending Department . You can change your e-mail address in the library account via the library catalogue.

Loss of the lib­rary card

If you lose your library card, please always inform the staff of the library's Local Lending Department immediately so that your library account can (initially) be blocked to prevent misuse by third parties. If you have lost your library card or it is damaged, you can have a new card issued for a fee.
