Library Prof. Dr Ludwig Wolff
In 1977, the Paderborn University Library acquired the library of the Marburg Germanist Prof. Dr. Ludwig Wolff (01.02.1892-30.06.1975) for a sum of 40.000 DM. This was done through the mediation of one of his students, Prof. Dr. Hans-Hugo Steinhoff (cf . Research Library Prof. Dr. Hans-Hugo Steinhoff).
About 5.770 volumes were acquired, which represented an important building block for the development of the German literature collection - with a focus on Old and Middle High German literature - of the Paderborn University Library.
The approximately 4.500 works in the library today, which generally contain an Ex Libris Ludwig Wolff, are partly integrated into the systematic open access collection of the UB, partly placed in the stacks.
They were marked as part of the 'Wolff Library' in 2019. An overview of the titles already indexed in this way can be found here.
