Höxter Collection
The Höxter Collection in the Paderborn University Library comprises approx. 1,870 volumes.
It contains the core holdings of literature on the history of architecture and art acquired at the libraries of the universities in Höxter since the middle of the 19th century, which were still in the holdings of the Höxter Departmental Library of the Paderborn University Library at the end of 2001 and were selected for transfer to the Paderborn University Library at the beginning of 2002.
The first building trade school in Prussia was established in Höxter in 1864. In the 1930s, it was renamed the "Höhere Technische Lehranstalt für Hoch- und Tiefbau" and after the war it was renamed the "Ingenieurschule für Bauwesen". When the Paderborn University of Applied Sciences was founded on 1 August 1972, it was integrated into it as the Höxter department and spun off again at the end of 2001. Since the beginning of 2002, it has been part of the Lippe and Höxter University of Applied Sciences, now the Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences.
The "Höxter" collection is listed in the library catalogue and can be searched online. An overview of the titles in the collection can be found here.
The library's public domain titles are being successively digitised by the University Library. The digital copies are also listed in the University Library catalogue and form part of the Paderborn University Library's digital collections.
